What we do
The subsidiary operates a hydraulic pressure treatment plant that uses pressure impregnation methods to infuse preservative chemicals into timber and poles. This makes the products more resistant to pests, fungal decay, and moisture, which are common challenges for wood exposed to outdoor environments
Woodco also provides treated timber for use in construction and landscaping. These are used for buildings, fences, retaining walls, and decking. The company may also provide sawn timber for custom carpentry, furniture production, or other specialized construction projects.
Forest cover stands at about 1.9 million hectares (ha), which is 10% of Uganda’s land cover area. The forests comprise both natural and plantations. “Natural forests” include both the tropical high forests (THF) and other naturally wooded land that falls within the definition of “forest”.
Also known as concrete masonry units (CMUs), are widely used in construction for both structural and non-structural applications. They are durable, versatile, and cost-effective, making them a popular choice in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
